ADJOAA is an online marketplace selling sustainable and premium fashion from makers of African descent. When we encountered ADJOAA, they’d been trying to develop momentum behind their business idea but it wasn’t moving far or fast enough. While we were inspired by their vision, the story they were telling wasn’t compelling.
Studio Chenchen came in to create a holistic branding package to help attract all the necessary players: investors, collaborators, suppliers, customers, media and influencers.

We started by recognising what the founder really wants: to retell and reclaim the story of Africa and create a business model for good. We established a brand identity around this vision and rolled out a bold, unique and compelling design package.
Three crests draw inspiration from contemporary African art movements and symbolise an agenda to turn colonisation on its head.
New branding and design helped interest in ADJOAA take off, attracting investors, collaborators and suppliers who want to be part of something special. Our distinctive design has inspired in-house merchandise and helped ADJOAA get ready for launch.
